We invite you to join us in painting this sailor’s beacon to celebrate White Shoal’s first ever opening to the public in her 109-year history. White Shoal Light follower, Peg McElmurry-Davis, says, “White Shoal is a sailor’s beacon and an invitation to the Straits.” By attending, you will be supporting efforts to restore and preserve this iconic Michigan lighthouse guiding safe passage through the Straits.
Create your own White Shoal masterpiece with a step-by-step painting event, guided by local artist Kate Dupre. Beginners are welcome and encouraged to join. All painting materials are provided! Complimentary Watercolor Cafe snacks offered. Giveaways and more from the White Shoal Lighthouse Preservation Society. Just bring your fun-loving friends and your favorite beverage! Twenty percent of ticket sales will be donated to the organization.
Events last approximately two hours, at the end of which you get to take home your artwork. Please arrive 10-15 minutes prior to start time. Canvas size is 11×14″ and paint is acrylic.
